When taking the plunge into icy water you need to make sure you book with the right company. There is no-one offering a thicker or warmer wetsuit than we do. Ours are up to 3 times thicker than what others provide. They are imported in from Spain and you simply can’t get better wetsuits for canyoning/ghyll scrambling. We wear the same as you- so you can tell the quality is exceptional!
We accommodate groups of friends, couples, families, stag & hen, corporate groups and even single travellers who wish to join the fun. All children under 18 must be accompanied by their own parent or legal guardian.
We have over a decade of experience under our belts and have built up a great reputation. Read our reviews and see for yourself!
We enjoy the activities as much as we’re sure you will, so you can expect fun and laughter when you come out. Safety is a top priority and that is never compromised but we love what we do and hope to put you at ease when you come out. We have great reviews on Trip Advisor and Google, so have a look for yourself then book in!
We are one of the few UK companies to hold canyoning specific guiding and rescue qualifications so you know you’re in safe hands.
All the photos/videos on this website and all over our socials are taken by us during our sessions. We understand how important photos/videos can be so we really try to capture the best moments during the day. These are shared with you for free the same day, so you can enjoy looking (laughing?!) at them with your family and friends.
Obviously if you do not want any photos/vidoes just let us know at the start.
Craig
Craig is the co owner and instructor. He started gaining practical experience from his childhood, up trees and in the rivers of County Durham where he grew up. This progressed to hiking, rock climbing and canyoning before going on to do his various qualifications. Craig has been running the sessions since the start of Crags in 2012. He knows each location intimately and has built up a wealth of experience over the years in varying conditions. He’s not bad at capturing your special moments on camera either!
In his spare time he enjoys doing exactly what he does at work – with a bit of caving and biking thrown in (sometimes even a spa day!)
Vickie
Vickie is the co owner and instructor. Her practical experience also started during her childhood, hiking with her family in Scotland and climbing trees. She also hails from the North East – from the sunny coastal town of Whitley Bay. She does a lot of ‘behind the scenes’ work and also runs some of the sessions alongside Craig. She also captures some decent photos and videos of your adventures! She enjoys walking our dog, biking, rock climbing and podcasts (also a spa day!).
